The Cisco Nexus® 9316D Spine switch (N9K-C9316D-GX) is a fixed Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switch that uses Cisco® Cloud Scale technology. It has 16 400/100G QSFP-DD ports that are fully backward-compatible with existing data center fabrics. It can help data centers transition smoothly from 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps speeds to 400 Gbps. It protects customers’ investments by offering flexible layer 2 and layer 3 scalability and performance that adapts to the changing needs of virtualized data centers and automated cloud environments.
Cisco offers two modes of operation for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches. Customers can choose between Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (Cisco ACI™) or Cisco Nexus switch environments (Cisco NX-OS mode). The Cisco ACI solution is an intent-driven architecture that automates and simplifies network operations with centralized policy-based application profiles. It provides a robust transport network for dynamic workloads on a network fabric that combines proven protocols with new innovations to create a highly flexible, scalable, and resilient architecture with low-latency and high-bandwidth links. This fabric supports the most demanding and flexible data center environments.
