hEX S is a five-port router for Gigabit Ethernet networks where wireless connectivity is not needed. It has an SFP port and PoE output on the last port, unlike the hEX.
It is low-cost, small, and easy to use, but it also has a very powerful dual-core 880 MHz CPU and 256 MB RAM that can handle all the advanced configurations that RouterOS supports. The device has a USB 2.0 port, PoE output for Ethernet port #5, and a 1.25Gbit/s SFP slot. Port #5 can power other passive PoE devices with the same voltage as applied to the unit
It supports IPsec hardware encryption (~470 Mbps) and The Dude server package and has a microSD slot that provides better r/w speed for file storage and Dude.
